Air Start Systems

Vital Link provided facility air systems can be supplied as free standing or palletized units to the customer requirements. Typically the systems can provide both engine start air and shop air for the facility and its systems. Typically features of Air Start Systems include:

Air Receiver

• Sized for multi-start capacity
• Capacity to “motor” the engine in the event of an emergency
• Provides safe storage of air at 15 bar
• Has local and remote pressure monitoring

Air Compressors

• Single or Dual units - Fast recharge rates
• Housed in weather resistant acoustical enclosures with filters to protect equipment
• Programmed, automatic running to maintain availability and optimize performance
• Remote condition/operation monitoring

Air Dryer

• Refrigerant cycle unit
• To remove moisture from the air supply
• Low maintenance for high operational availability
• Pre-fabricated system pipe-work factory pressure tested
• Pressure Control Valve with remote operation and pressure adjustment
• Flexible hose with quick release coupling to engine starter unit
• Facility shop air outlets located around the facility for servicing and tools

Fuel Systems

Typically the systems consist of the following:

Fuel Tank

• Fabricated to conform to applicable local codes
• Safety ventilation unit
• Skid mounted units incorporate a duel shell or containment base
• Access hatch and safety ladder
• Quick release, automatic stop, filling point
• De-fueling line and connection
• Standard bowser filling connection Snorkel fuel feed system from tank
• Visual and remote fuel level indication
• Remotely activated safety valve

Fuel Conditioning Skid

• Pump/explosion proof motor
• Coaleser / filter unit with local and remote indication
• Pressure regulation system
• Local and remote component monitoring
• Non-return valves and strainers
• Servicing valves

Delivery and Metering Skid

• High accuracy fuel flow meter(s) typically with built-in density and temperature sensing and compensation
• Remote flow, density, delivery pressure and temperature indication
• Fuel Accumulator (where required)
• Remotely controlled safety valves
• Calibration Circulation line
• Change over valve for preservation oil supply (where required)
• Delivery hose with quick release connection to the engine

Facility Control Systems

Vital Link provides computer based Program Logic Control facility control systems to integrate the operation of all systems using where possible off the shelf components that offer worldwide support. Vital Link configures control systems to insure safe operation of the facility systems. Interlocks and control redundancy are provided that only allow engine operation once all systems are correctly activated and available. Operator display screens provide pictorial mimics of the facility and systems to give the operators visual interpretations of the facility status. The control systems monitor the facility and its systems during operation to enable notification of problems and schedule requirements such as calibration, servicing and maintenance.
